PROJECTS 70 71 ostiliomobili Magazine - Edition 1 The building featured here is by architect Alberto Caldara: a generous two-storey residence. A rational structure conceals an elegant, contemporary soul layered with textiles and carefully curated design pieces. Light pours in through large windows, while crisp geometric cuts add dynamism and ensure the owners’ privacy. Understated, effortless elegance is the common thread that runs through social spaces to the most private rooms. The home’s beauty lies above all in its expansive interiors rich in materials and functionally organised across two floors, with a broad terrace and large French doors; an interplay of volumes mixing light and shadows, defined by clean architectural forms and the glow reflected from the lake. The interior design reflects a contemporary, elegant focus, and the functionality of the spaces follows today’s architectural standards, characterising the entire home. The living area is very spacious, and the lower level features several distinct sleeping zones, something you’ll rarely find elsewhere. All was conceived and brought to life by an exceptional team united by a passion for design: architect Alberto Caldara, project designer and site director, in partnership with the interior designers at ostiliomobili, which supplied the furnishings. The living area is a generous openplan space that accommodates the lounge with fireplace and the dining area. As for colour, warm earth tones with touches of grey lend refinement and balance, while premium materials – leathers, Canaletto walnut, brass trims, crystal and bookmatched marbles – become signature features. The large windows link indoor and outdoor volumes, bringing light at every hour, while the architect’s proposals – in partnership with ostiliomobili – introduce smart solutions from the finest brands Made in Italy. Downstairs is the night area with three bedrooms: two doubles, one directly connected to a walk-in wardrobe and bathroom to form one generous suite and another equally elegant and seductive, and a single bedroom for the daughter. The walk-in wardrobe makes use of every centimetre, with full-height storage and handle-less doors that match the wall colours and give the space a certain lightness. Outside, the home is well structured and enjoys a magnificent lake view. The residence blends effortlessly into the gentle landscape, perfect for family life and welcoming friends. For entertaining, there are sofas and seats adorned with cushions and a large table, all protected by the panoramic terrace where you can watch the sunset from a sofa nestled in a woven structure: the quintessence of openair relaxation on summer evenings. The King size bed stands out for its fabric tufted headboard, the same material chosen to also cover the large coordinated chest of drawers. The bed is highlighted by a dramatic wall-mounted headboard in leather and fabric, matched with elegant, highgloss lacquered wood nightstands. PHOTO Eros Mauroner
